Ross Thiele & Son is a fourth-generation family business founded in San Diego by Ross Thiele over 90 years ago.

Ross Thiele worked in the furnishings and design department of the famous Marston’s Department Store in downtown San Diego, assisting customers to select luxury furnishings for their homes. During his time there, Ross was asked by the store’s owner, George Marston, to travel to Spain in search of antique furniture for San Diego’s Junipero Serra Museum, which became part of the California Pacific International Exposition in 1935. It was from this experience and subsequent travel to Europe that inspired Ross Thiele to open his own interior design business to serve the emerging and European architectural influences and growth in the San Diego area.
