Elizabeth Thiele Barkett
Elizabeth is the third-generation owner of Ross Thiele & Son and has over 30 years of design experience. Her early studies at San Miguel de Allende in Mexico inspired an interest in textiles, folk art, and the use of color in design. Before graduating from the Design Institute of San Diego, she started and ran her own business, Wynola Mercantile, based in Julian, selling antiques and accessories. She then joined Ross Thiele & Son in 1987 working alongside her father, John Thiele, on design projects and regularly traveling to Europe to source antiques. She now leads the studio as owner and Principal Designer. Elizabeth combines her intuitive sensitivity to materials and color with her extensive knowledge of furniture and local resources to deliver a variety of project styles to the highest professional standard.
Jessica Phelps
Jessica joined Ross Thiele & Son in 2001 and has over 19 years of design experience. Originally from Missouri, she grew up around her grandmother’s bridal shop and has always had an appreciation for beautiful fabrics and design. After first obtaining a degree in fashion merchandising, she moved to San Diego and pursued a career in interior design. She graduated from the Design Institute of San Diego and later obtained NCIDQ certification in 2005. Since joining Ross Thiele & Son, Jessica has delivered numerous projects with particular attention paid to the details that make each project unique. She brings together her commitment to the client experience with passion for design and creativity to deliver high-quality services and solutions on all projects.
Ian Thiele-Long
Ian is the fourth generation of Thiele family designers and has over 15 years of design experience. A San Diego native, he began his professional career with a leading hospitality design studio in San Francisco. He relocated to London with the same company in 2008, working on large-scale luxury resort hotel projects across Europe. He then moved into residential design in 2013, working for leading London-based interior design studios and delivering high-end luxury residential projects in the UK and abroad. He moved back to San Diego to join Ross Thiele & Son in 2020. Ian brings his experience with high-end luxury projects and a keen appreciation for history and antique furniture to his work with Ross Thiele & Son.
